“The food served here is really bad and it was time the IRCTC was pulled up but then the Shiv Sena went too far by forcing a manager to break his fast,” Prashant Rawat, a Mumbai-based engineer who often dropped by at the NMS said.

Manjula Rangnekar, another frequent visitor said NMS, unlike other state Bhavans did not serve state food and instead dished out regular north Indian food.

The issue of bad food had been raised by MPs a number of times but to no avail. On July 17, the MPs unanimously decided to raid the canteen with media in toe.

Meanwhile IRCTC has constituted a three member fact finding committee comprising senior officials. The committee will submit its report in three days.
