Four deaths, disease not identified

THE EXPERT doctors’ team failed to arrive at any conclusion on the mysterious disease which claimed four lives in Baidwar village in Koraon. The team returned today after conducting several tests of the patients suffering from the disease.

“The doctors failed to ascertain the exact cause of the disease. The initial reports of the patients was normal. Few more advance tests were conducted by the team. The report of these tests is still awaited,” said district epidemic cell in-charge Dr VK Mishra.

Dr Mishra said all three patients admitted to Beli Hospital, after symptoms of high fever and black spots, had recovered. They would be released from the hospital soon. The patients admitted to Koraon CHC had also been released, he added.

CMO Dr Shantimal Singhavi said the pathology samples of the patients admitted to Koraon CHC, would be sent to Lucknow for advance tests. “No fresh case has been reported in the last two days in Koraon. The situation is becoming normal fast,” he added.

DM’s warning: District magistrate Amrit Abhijat has warned the TB staff of strict action in case of false reporting of TB cases. Addressing the district TB control society meeting at camp office on Friday, Amrit Abhijat said there should be no false reporting of TB cases. All records would be verified by the police. And in case of any irregularity, the staff concerned would be sent to jail, he said.

Talking to HT, CMO Dr Shantimal Singhavi said the DM had issued strict directions for identifying new TB patients and providing them good medical facilities.
