The feud broke out when SSB jawans yesterday intercepted a truck laden with rice in Ranjit Bojha village. While SSB Deputy Commandant Devanand claimed that the rice was being smuggled to Nepal, the locals have alleged that the SSB jawans tried to take away the rice purchased by them and when they resisted the SSB jawans beat up two people, including a woman.

The clash broke out between the two sides in which six persons, including three women, were injured.

District Magistrate Rigzian Samphel said a hunt has been launched to arrest the accused and an inquiry has been ordered into the incident.
