Veteran freedom fighter Damodar Prasad Arya passed away on Thursday due to old age, family sources said.

Veteran freedom fighter Damodar Prasad Arya passed away on Thursday due to old age, family sources said.

Arya was 99, they said.

His last rites were performed with full state honours in the presence of large number of relatives and friends.

Arya actively took part in the country's freedom struggle and was jailed in Hyderabad in 1936-37 for particpating in the movement against Britishers.
