FURORE fever

The HT Next sponsored DCE?s debating contest promises to be an eagerly awaited event.

Reviving last year’s enthusiasm, this year too, FURORE 2004 is set to send adrenaline pumping among students. Debaters nationwide are slated to participate in the mega-debating contest FURORE’2004, an HT Next sponsored event taking place under the umbrella of REPERTOIRE’2004, being organised by the IEEE-IEE student branches of the Delhi College of Engineering (DCE).

FURORE 2004 will be a two-round event — the first round will feature the debating section, while the second comprises a panel discussion. To participate in the event or learn more about the topics, deadlines, rules and other details log straight on to the DCE website http://www.dcetech.com. Your entries should clearly mention your choice of topic and whether you are for or against the motion. Short-listed candidates will later be invited to present their views on stage.

Participants for the second round, the panel discussion, will also be selected from the first round on the basis of their content, presentation style, oratorical skills, and how well they defend their stand and handle audience interjection. Both the debating and the panel discussion sections carry huge cash prizes.

Meanwhile, there are exciting games and prizes planned for the audience as well. The organisers hope to draw a cross-section of media people, spokespersons and professors to the event to be made memorable with scintillating animations and interfaces created by DCE students. The last date for receiving all the entries is: November 1, 2004.
