GAD clarification on labour tax

GENERAL ADMINISTRATION Department (GAD) has clarified that it has issued no order suspending the recovery of one per cent labour tax and refund of the amount recovered earlier in all works departments.

According to an official release, GAD has asked departments not to follow the order saying it was totally fake and forged. Departments received an order No/ 9975/S312/1/110, dated 26.9.2005 for suspension of the recovery of one per cent labour tax and for refund of the amount realised earlier. GAD denies having issued this order.

GAD sent a letter to all departments, divisional commissioners and district collectors asking them to take no action on the ‘fake’ order and to apprise subordinate offices of this fact.
