Talking to newspersons here today he said that about 15,000 `Shakti Dal' workers are to be deployed at various booths at this constituency when it goes to polls on Tuesday.
Gaekwad claimed that about 5000 VHP and BD workers have joined Congress as they were "disappointed with BJP, that did not help them in fighting their cases in the court related to riots and clashes in the past".
Expressing confidence about his victory Gaekwad said "electorates are unhappy with the performance of BJP candidate Jayaben Thakker, who has not done anything to solve their problems for the last six years as MP".
He claimed that 1200 more small industrial units have been closed down in the distict rendering thousands of youths jobless.
Promising to provide employment if elected, he said he would use his MP's fund for development work where the youths would be deployed for election duty.
