Veteran actor Ian McKellen, who played Gandalf in the Lord of the Rings franchise, says he might walk out of the upcoming film The Hobbit if its makers don’t announce the starting date or the name of the new director soon.

“Well, I’m not under contract and my time is running out. I’m enjoying working in theatre and frankly, I want to get on with doing another play,” the 71-year-old actor said.
