Gangrape: Police arrest one more rapist, searching remaining ten

Superintendent of Police (SP), Hisar, B Satheesh Balan told HT that one of the accused Situ revealed the names of other eleven accused involved in the gang-rape during interrogation. "We will reveal the name of the second accused after the identification parade," Balan said.
Meanwhile the district administration has announced to provide government. job to the son of the deceased father of the rape victim who committed suicide by consuming poison on September 18. The affected dalit family has also been given a financial assistance of Rs. 5 lakhs.
It may be recalled that on September 9, a dalit minor girl who is a 12th class student had left her house to meet her maternal uncle in Patel Nagar, Hisar. An upper caste youth Sonu offered her a lift and took her to a secluded place.
There and his friends allegedly raped the girl. The victim told her mother about the incident but did not inform her father. When her father came to know of it on September 18, he committed suicide by consuming poison.
His dead body was taken to the civil hospital, Hisar for postmortem. The news of his suicide spread like wild fire and dalits gathered at the SP office demanding immediate arrest of the rapists.
The agitated dalits did not allow postmortem for three days and sat on indefinite dharna at the mortuary. It was after the arrest of one accused Situ that the restive dalits allowed the cremation on September 22 morning.
