GOVERNOR AND Chancellor TV Rajeswar today appointed Dr Hari Gautam as Vice-Chancellor of the King George?s Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow, for three years. Dr Gautam is likely to take over his new assignment next week.
GOVERNOR AND Chancellor TV Rajeswar today appointed Dr Hari Gautam as Vice-Chancellor of the King George’s Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow, for three years. Dr Gautam is likely to take over his new assignment next week.
The governor took the decision after holding discussions with Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav. Sources said the State Government had forwarded three names -- Dr Gautam, Dr Kamal Kakar Tripathi (BHU) and former PGI Director Dr SS Agarwal.
The governor selected Dr Gautam, who has experience of working as Chairman, University Grants Commission and Vice-Chancellor of Banaras Hindu University.
Gautam had also worked as Principal, SN Medical College, Agra.
A Raj Bhawan communiqué said Dr Gautam also held offices of President, National Academy of Medical Sciences and Director and Chairman of the Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences, Srinagar. Known for conducting a number of open-heart surgeries, Dr Gautam also has experience of working with a reputed medical institute of UK.
