With a talented, fresh squad Ghana will make their debut in World Cup soccer this year. The team that boasts of impressive performances in the past years had been unable to secure a place until 2006.

Beating Cape Verde 4-0 in the qualifying match was another feather in Ghana's cap who also beat South Africa twice to reach Germany this year.

Michael Essien, the most expensive player ever to emerge from Africa is the only known player in the team. Yet, expectations are soaring to see a good performance by the squad.
