Girl dead body found, foul play suspected

A 21-year-old woman was found dead on the terrace of Chhotu Ram Polytechnic College here on Wednesday. The deceased, identified as Monika Rani was a resident of Baliyana village of the district.

A 21-year-old woman was found dead on the terrace of Chhotu Ram Polytechnic College here on Wednesday.

The deceased, identified as Monika Rani was a resident of Baliyana village of the district. Police was informed, when an employee of the said college happened to visit roof of college in afternoon after a foul smell was emanating in the campus.

Police said that she was missing from her village residence since 20 September, and a missing complaint in this regard was lodged at Kharawar police station. Monika had passed out from the same college recently and was a student of electronics communication. Police had seized a chloroform bottle from the crime spot.

Currently, she was taking coaching at a private coaching center here. Her father Davinder Singh told police that he had recovered a suicide note written by his daughter in which she had said that some girls belonging to Delhi were blackmailing her.

Accused had threatened her to put her video in compromising position with a boy, if she did not pay them Rs.5 lakh. Police had registered a case under 306 (abetment to suicide) and 384(extortion)section of Indian Penal Code against unknown persons.
