Girls superior to boys in creativity
GIRLS ARE superior to boys with respect to their overall scientific creativity as well as fluency, flexibility and originality aspects of it. This fact came to light in a study conducted on "Relationship between Scientific Creativity and Interest in Science among Higher Secondary Students" by Vijay Kumar, a researcher, in two colleges of the city.

This fact came to light in a study conducted on "Relationship between Scientific Creativity and Interest in Science among Higher Secondary Students" by Vijay Kumar, a researcher, in two colleges of the city.
Students of class XI biology group of boys as well as girls institutions of the city constituted the target group for this study. The investigator selected 50 male and 50 female students of class XI (Biology group) from Jamuna Christian Inter College and St Anthony Girls Inter College by random sampling method. The age of these students ranged from 16 to 18 years.
Findings stated that all students needed to be allowed to discover things for themselves and they should also be put in a position of an original discoverer.
It is the duty of science teachers to create interest in the field of science among the students. They can use specific teaching methods for this.
They can also create such type of environment so that students may feel psychologically and physically comfortable to express their own thoughts and ideas about things.
The research findings are being studied by educationists here to know the relationship between scientific creativity and interest in science among higher secondary students.
No significant difference has been found between boys and girls with respect to their inquisitiveness aspect of scientific creativity.
There exists no significant difference between boys and girls in interest in science.
Overall scientific creativity and fluency, flexibility of girls is not significantly related to interest in science. Originality and inquisitiveness aspects of scientific creativity of girls are significantly positively related to their interest in science.
