"The fact is that we have Pakistan saying various things at various times, various forms and to various audiences", Foreign Secretary Shiv Shankar Menon told journalists accompanying him on return from Dhaka to Delhi.

He was asked about media reports on Pakistan's response to the dossier given by India on Mumbai terror attacks carried out by elements in that country.

He said India was "not going to react to statements to the media, different statements through different people, through speculation and through guesswork".

Pakistan has said it would soon come out with its probe into Mumbai terror attack last November based on the dossier of evidence given by India. India is waiting for the response from Pakistan.

"If they (Pakistan) have something to say to us, they should come and directly talk to us", Menon said.

Earlier in the day, Pakistan said it needs more information from India to complete its investigations before giving a reply.
