Goa rapists of minor Russian girl held

Three days after a 9-year-old Russian girl was raped on a north Goa beach, police arrested the two accused on Friday. Aman Bharadwaj, the main accused, was caught in Mumbai, while his accomplice Anil Raghuvanshi was held in Panjim, reports HT.

Three days after a 9-year-old Russian girl was raped on a north Goa beach, police arrested the two accused on Friday.

Aman Bharadwaj (21), the main accused, was caught from Nehru Nagar in Mumbai, while his accomplice Anil Raghuvanshi (27) was held in Panjim.

“The Goa police told us they would be coming to Mumbai to arrest Bhardwaj,” said ACP Ritesh Kumar. “They had information he would be travelling through the area.”

Bharadwaj will be produced in court on Saturday.

Deputy Inspector General of Goa police, Ravindra Singh Yadav said Raghuvanshi was on his way to Bangalore on Thursday when the police got his cell phone number. “We asked him to surrender. He came back,” Yadav added.

Raghuvanshi has been reman-ded to judicial custody.

Bharadwaj is from Bastar district of UPwhile Raghuvanshi is from Hoshangabad in MP. They are employed at a pharmaceutical unit at Dhargal, 55 km north of Panjim.
