Pilern Citizens Forum, a local non-government organisation based in coastal taluka of Bardez, today pointed out a ration card which shows Urban William Paul and his wife Janet aged 73 and 65 respectively as son and daughter of Jose Pereira, who is only 32.

"We are moving the High Court against the couple and government officers who have committed this fraud to help a Britisher," Prakash Banododkar, Convenor, Pilern Citizens Forum, told reporters today.

"The district administration has refused to act against talathi and mamlatdar (both revenue officers)," he said.

He alleged the British couple which had purchased the top floor of Pereira's House in Nerul village, forged the documents in connivance with the revenue officers.

"We had brought this case to light through media four months back. After that the state government admitted the fraud but none of the officers are suspended," Bandodkar said.

The Forum has now begun process to collect details of all the ration cards in the village, which is dotting Candolim, Calangute and Coco beach.

"We have found lot of unrecognised names in the ration cards. That is a scam that we will expose in near future," a member said.
