But taking the sting away comes the news that she will be prepared for the Big Reality TV in the Sky. Talking to the hallowed OK! magazine, Ms Goody has stated that she has started planning for her funeral. Quite understandably, she wants “people to cry over me”.

As far as cynics are concerned, they can keep their talk about an extended 15 minutes of fame to themselves. We understand Ms Goody. We also understand that the need to be under the spotlights is as human as poppadams need to be brittle. Ms Goody’s journey from a humble dental nurse to a tabloid celeb, with her own brand of best-selling perfume, has been an inspiration to many — especially those who don’t have the courage to share their post-life details with glossy mags.
