It goes like this: English-81, Maths-95, Business Studies-66, Economics-0 and Accounts Theory-0 (20 in practicals).

Soni, a student of Amity International School, Sector 44, Noida, was flabbergasted as to how she could score a naught in two subjects while in other she has done well.

“I was expecting at least 95 in Economics and see what I have got,” she said. She broke down and even her parents were not in the city to console her. She called up her parents, who were in Mumbai, and asked them to find out what happened. Her parents immediately flew down to Delhi and contacted the school. The school authorities were too in shock. Pooja had scored 98 in Economics pre-boards.“To pursue Economics (Hons) was my first choice and then B.com (Hons). They have given me zero in Accountancy theory also. How is that possible? I don’t know what is happening,” said Soni, a resident of Sector 14.

“We got so scared when we spoke to her on the phone. She was crying badly. We left for Delhi within minutes to be with her,” said her father Vijay Soni.

Meanwhile, the board has decided to look into the matter. “They should apply for re-checking and revaluation. It might be a technical error and we will look into the matter,” said Vineet Joshi, chairman, CBSE.
