GR Gopinath, known as the father of low-cost airline in the country, is expected to exit Kingfisher Airlines soon.

He now hold just 0.32 per cent share in the airline, a far cry from the 5 per cent that he held when Deccan was merged with Kingfisher.
When contacted, a spokesperson of Deccan 360, the logistics company that Gopinath now heads, said he has been regularly offloading his Kingfisher equity after the lock-in period ended, and the proceeds are being used for Deccan 360.
“He is likely to exit from Kingfisher Airlines soon,” the official who did not wish to be identified told Hindustan Times.
Gopinath could not be contacted despite several attempts.
