Governor presents bravery awards

GOVERNOR Dr Balram Jakhar distributed the 14th Godfrey Philips Bravery Awards for winners of Madhya Pradesh in the City today.

GOVERNOR Dr Balram Jakhar distributed the 14th Godfrey Philips Bravery Awards for winners of Madhya Pradesh in the City today.

The awards for the State were distributed under two categories including Physical Bravery and Social Acts of Courage. In each category, winners were awarded gold, silver and bronze medals alongwith cash prizes and certificates. Speaking on the occasion, the Governor congratulated all the winners

The awards honour those unique men and women who emerge stronger under adversity giving off themselves selflessly, thus setting an example for others to follow.

At present the awards cover 16 States across the length and breadth of the country. The criteria for the awards include unique parameters like personal risk, situational intensity, selflessness, determination, foresight and perseverance.

A panel of distinguished judges will select the ‘bravest of the brave’ from amongst the winners of the State-level Godfrey Phillips Bravery Awards gold medal winners in both categories. The winners will be awarded in Delhi at a national ceremony.

3. Manoj Kumar (bronze)
4. DC Sagar (special award)

SOCIAL ACTS OF COURAGE
1. Jarnail Singh (gold)
2. Seema Parihar (silver)
3. Kunwarlal Yadav (bronze)
