THE STATE Medical Education Department of the State Government has fixed the fees for general nursing midwife (GNM) course in all the nursing schools in private sector.
The first year fees for this three-and-half-year course have been fixed at Rs 35,000 while it will be Rs 33,000 each for second and third year.
The fees for internship period of six months will be Rs14,000. This is inclusive of all other fees along with tuition fees. Thus, a student will pay Rs 1.15 lakh for the entire course.
As per the fee structure, the tuition fee for GNM diploma course has been fixed at Rs 85,000 of which Rs 25,000 each will be charged for the first, second and third year while Rs 10,000 will be charged for the internship of six months.
The students will pay a total of Rs 30,000 in other heads. Of this, Rs 10,000 would be charged for the first year, Rs 8,000 each for second and third year and Rs 4,000 for the internship.
The fees under additional heads to be charged from the students of nursing course includes Rs 1,300 as library fee, Rs 1,200 as laboratory fee, Rs 1,500 as transportation fee, Rs 1,000 as sports and entertainment fee, Rs 500 as printing and stationery fee, Rs 1,000 as internal evaluation fee, Rs 1,000 as hostel bed, electricity and water charge and Rs 500 for medical check-up and immunisation. Rs 2000 would be charged as caution money which will be charged only once at the time of admission in the first year and will be refunded on completion of the course. Rs 4,000 will be charged as fees under other heads during internship.
