"External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee will make a statement tomorrow," Parliamentary Affairs Minister PR Dasmunsi told reporters in New Delhi when asked about Nasreen.

"She is very much in India," he said when asked about speculation that she has been taken out of the country. Dasmunsi, however, refused to take further questions on the issue.

After being hounded out of Kolkata and Jaipur, the controversial writer was shifted from Rajasthan House here to an undisclosed location late last night, minutes after the Centre decided to take charge of her security.

The sleuths of the central security agency arrived at the Rajasthan House in New Delhi well past midnight and whisked away the 45-year-old writer to a "safe place", official sources said.
