They were taken in three luxury coaches on a tour that would take them to Tiruchy, Thanjavur, Madurai and finally to the hill station of Kodaikanal.

“Since most of us have not seen Tamil Nadu, we decided to use this opportunity to see this beautiful state. I am sure our tour will help remove any misunderstanding between the two states,” said Katta Srinivasa Naidu, one of the MLAs.

A Tamil Nadu BJP functionary disclosed that the MLAs were very keen to see the Big Temple at Thanjavur and Meenakshi Temple at Madurai and after some quick planning, the tour was organised.

“At Tiruchy, some of our farmers wing representatives will meet the MLAs and brief them on the Tamil Nadu side of the Cauvery dispute,” he added.

The functionary said armed police escort would accompany the three buses.
