Date of Birth: 20 December 1970, Harare
Test Debut: Against India at Harare in 1992/93
ODI Debut: Against India at Harare in 1992/93
 Bats: Right Hand Bat
 Bowls: Slow Left Arm Orthodox

Gritty right-hand top-order batsman, bowls useful slow-left arm. Outstanding fielder, especially at gully.

Andy's younger brother. Fine cricketer in own right but often overshadowed by his sibling. Should the team reach the second phase, would become only the second Zimbabwean player after his brother, to reach 200 caps. His career runs tally in ODIs is also second only to Andy, his average is one less and his highest score of 142 not out — off 128 balls v Bangladesh in Bulawayo in April 2001 — is three behind Andy's best.

Scored a career-best 201 not out v Pakistan in Harare in Jan 1995 when Zimbabwe recorded their first test win (Andy got only 156. But his test best is 232 not out).

Role has changed over time, from opener and innings anchor to middle-order stroke-maker. A good tactician, has captained the team. Developed into a useful bowler — took eight wickets in a test v Bangladesh in 2001 — although called three times v New Zealand in 2000 and banned from bowling for rest of innings. Also called for throwing in domestic cricket in 1994/5.

Has played as a professional in club cricket in England, with one season in the Netherlands.
