The ‘Satsang’ that was organised at the open-air stage of Ravindra Bhavan last night attracted a huge crowd of Art of Living followers as well as college students who were there to have just fun, something Hazra spoke about while addressing the people in between his recital.

Hazra’s guitar struck a perfect chord with the audience that reciprocated in elation and with applause. The evening started with the traditional ‘Ganesh Bhajan’ and was then followed by hymns of Lord Shiva- ‘Om Shiva Om’.

Hazra also explained the importance of the words ‘Nama Shivaya’ when broken into separate tones of Na Ma Shi Va Ya and explained how chanting them 108 times stabilises the mental state of the person.

The accomplished guitarist also infused light-hearted humour in between Bhajans to regale the audience. The musical ensemble included renditions on the harmonium, keyboard and some other instruments.

Vikram Hazra particularly thanked a group of students from the Institute of Excellence in Higher Education, who attended the function on his request and participated enthusiastically in the chorus.
