Operating within a hostel for Gujaratis visiting the city, the canteen is open to all. This is the place to get authentic Gujarati food showcased in a fixed thali for lunch and dinner. For Rs 30, the thali comes with endless helpings of dal, three vegetable dishes (including a memorable cabbage and potato preparation), rajmah, roti and rice. For dessert, go for the chilled shrikhand, jalebis or the attta laddoos. On the breakfast menu there's thepla and fafda as well as snack items like gathia, dhokla, khandavi and chevda, to be washed down with chhach (buttermilk).
