Taking the cold wave and fog into consideration, the Haryana government has issued mandatory orders asking all the private as well as government schools in Gurgaon to open at 10 a.m. up to January 14, with immediate effect. These orders, however, do not pose any restriction on the closing hours of the schools.

District Magistrate of Gurgaon, Deepti Uma-shankar, also clamped Section 144 of Cr PC making it mandatory for all schools to follow the orders.

Private school authorities in Gurgaon, however, said they have not received any such orders from the district administration.

Some schools have decided to close for one day while others have declared holidays for junior classes up to standard II till January 14.
