Harbhajan, who sustained the injury in his bowling finger before the start of the one-day series, refused to talk to the media after crossing the border.
The Indian team management on Monday decided to send the bowler home for rest and rehabilitation so that he could be fit in time for the home series against England beginning on March one.
Opener Virender Sehwag, who injured his shoulder during the second one-dayer against Pakistan in Rawalpindi, also returned home on Monday.
Harbhajan had missed India's entire tour of Pakistan in 2004, also due to injury.
