Lal, who is one of the probables for the chief minister's post if the Congress is voted to power in Haryana, reached the polling station in his home constituency along with his wife, Jasma Devi, their MP son Kuldeep Bishnoi and his wife on Thursday morning.
However, Lal's casting his ballot allegedly in front of the electronic media created a fuss with some people complaining that as per the Election Commission's directions, a voter cannot show whom he has voted for.
The Congress stalwart is pitted against Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala's elder son Ajay Chautala's son-in-law Rajesh Godhara.
Queried on the issue of chief ministership, Lal said "I have ruled the state thrice and Congress chief Sonia Gandhi's verdict on it will be acceptable to all."
