HC clearance for Yamuna e-way
On Friday, the Allahabad High Court dismissed all petitions against land acquisition for Yamuna Expressway. This has cleared the decks for the fast development of the 165-km long expressway and the five development zones of 500 hectare each by Jaypee Infratech Ltd in Gautam Budha Nagar, Aligarh and Agra district along it.

On Friday, the Allahabad High Court dismissed all petitions against land acquisition for Yamuna Expressway. This has cleared the decks for the fast development of the 165-km long expressway and the five development zones of 500 hectare each by Jaypee Infratech Ltd in Gautam Budha Nagar, Aligarh and Agra district along it.
The petitioners had challenged the urgency clause under which land was acquired without inviting objections. They had also said the acquisition was for the benefit of the company and not the public.
The court said the state government had acquired land for public welfare and in view of Commonwealth Games there was an urgency.
