Admitting a Writ Petition filed by 19 diploma Holders in Agricultur and Horticulture, Justice K Venkataraman, posted the case for further hearing on February 19 and sought the government official's views.
The petitioners submitted that they had completed their diploma and were waiting for jobs for the last 18 years after registering with the Employement exchange. Some had crossed 40 years of age. But the Government had rejected applications of who crossed this age, which was unfair, they said.
The applications should not be rejected on the ground of age. Appointments should be based on state level seniority of registration in employment exchanges and diploma holders should be given an opportunity.
