HC to govt : Consider parole to life convict

THE LUCKNOW Bench of the Allahabad High Court on Monday directed the State Government to consider granting parole (short-term bail) to a life convict, Kallu, to enable him to perform the marriage ceremony of his daughter .

THE LUCKNOW Bench of the Allahabad High Court on Monday directed the State Government to consider granting parole (short-term bail) to a life convict, Kallu, to enable him to perform the marriage ceremony of his daughter .

The Bench, comprising Justice Abdul Mateen and Justice Alok Kumar Singh, passed the above orders on a letter-petition sent by Kallu from Varanasi Central Jail to the senior judge of the Lucknow Bench, praying for release on parole for a month to perform the marriage ceremony of his daughter.

Judicial custody : Special Judicial magistrate (CBI) UC Pandey remanded former BSP legislator Uday Bhan in judicial custody till June 2 in connection with a murder case. Uday Bhan is already serving a life sentence in a triple murder case.

Uday was brought to Lucknow from Pratapgarh jail, where he had been serving his life term in connection with the triple murder case.

Rakesh Pandey, the victim in the present murder case, had been an eyewitness in the triple murder case.
