Health scare at Pravasi celebrations as guest falls ill

An NRI complained of health problems diagnosed as "food poisoning" in the middle of a special session and had to be given medical assistance.

There were anxious moments in the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas celebrations on Sunday when an NRI of Punjabi origin complained of health problems diagnosed as "food poisoning" in the middle of a special session and had to be given immediate medical assistance.

During the state session on Punjab, S S Jassar from the UK complaining of giddiness, cried for water and had to be immediately rushed outside.

An ambulance was called as Jassar vomited and asked for a doctor. Medicos attending him, termed it to be a case of "food poisoning".

Jassar who originally hails from Ludhiana and is at present settled in London said the medicines given had provided relief.
