The Dantewada jailbreak, which led to the escape of 299 prisoners, including about 100 Naxalites, points to a grave lapse in security. No doubt, the strength of the police personnel manning the jail was woefully inadequate. But their incompetence and negligence surely made the task of the jail-breakers easier. With this, the strength of the Naxalites has also got a boost.
