Heroin worth one crore seized in Lucknow

Police are unearthing a drug peddling racket and clues to the mastermind who is running it for many years.

Three persons carrying cocaine worth Rs one crore in the international market were arrested by the police here.

Acting on a tip off, police unearthed the drug peddling gang in Kaiserbagh area on Saturday and recovered one kg of cocaine from the possession of three persons identified as Rajiv Kumar, Sukhbir Singh Yadav and Rajesh Mishra.

During interrogation, they revealed that some 'master' was running a gang from Kannauj for past several years and they used to get Rs 5,000 each for delivering the consignments, police said.

Officials said the 'master' had connection with top drug dealers in Barabanki and Madhya Pradesh and gets cocaine, morphine, smack and heroine from them and later sends it to other districts including the state capital.
