An alert has been sounded in the state and senior officials are directed to maintain round the clock vigil at all the important places, including railway stations, bus stands and main markets in view of the terror strikes in Mumbai, sources said.

Directives have been issued to maintain strict vigil at the Lucknow festival which started two days ago with deployment of dog squads, anti-mines teams and bomb disposal staff and strict checking, sources added.
