The Congress leader, who is in jail, has been charged with having acted as a middleman in the appointment of a person on the post of food inspector whose examination was conducted by the MPPEB. The counsel opposed the bail application saying as the charge-sheet in the case has already been filed before the trial court, the applicant has to first approach that court for bail.

While Saxena sought bail from the high court, the police filed the chargesheet in his case at the trial court in the state capital.
