Founder and former chief commander of militant outfit Hizbul Mujahideen Ahsan Dar was arrested in north Kashmir on Wednesday.

The police arrested Dar after they were tipped off about his presence in Sumbal area of Baramulla district. Dar was trying to co-ordinate activities of various militant organisations in the state and had been active since last year after infiltrating into the Valley, DIG Baramaulla Abdul Gani told mediapersons.
Dar was in contact with the ISI and other Pak agencies and was receiving funds from across the border. He had entered India through Bangladesh, the officer said.
