Hizbul commander held in J&K

A senior Hizbul commander has been nabbed by the Army in Anantnag in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday. Army officials had been trailing him for quite a few days before ultimately managing to corner him.

In other developments in the region, two terrorists and a Pakistani intruder were shot dead in two separate incidents in Udhampur district and Samba sector in the state, official sources said.

The security forces, on specific information, had launched an operation in Pouni area of Udhampur on Tuesday, where they managed to shoot down the two militants, they said.

Two AK rifles and some ammunition were recovered from the site of the encounter.

The Pakistani intruder was killed by the Border Security Force troops when he tried to enter Indian via the International Border in Chamliyal area of Samba sector.

A copy of the holy Quran, a diary and some Pakistani currency notes were recovered from the intruder's possession, they added.
