Chattha said 8% increase had been made in the dearness allowances of government employees, following the pattern of the central government employees.

He said it would put annual impact of Rs 420 crore on the state exchequer. However, the liabilities for the current financial year would be Rs 490 crore as DA would be paid to the employees for 14 months from January 1, 2013 to February 2014.
