Hutments gutted in Sector 56, three dead

In a major fire on Badshahpur Road near Sector 56, three factory workers were killed while nine others got severely injured. The fire broke out in a cluster of 45 hutments on Saturday night when the inhabitants allegedly lit candles after the power supply failed.

In a major fire on Badshahpur Road near Sector 56, three factory workers were killed while nine others got severely injured. The fire broke out in a cluster of 45 hutments on Saturday night when the inhabitants allegedly lit candles after the power supply failed.

While five victims were taken to Delhi’s Ram Manohar Lohia hospital, three are undergoing treatment at Gurgaon’s civil hospital. By the time three fire tenders reached the spot, all the houses were gutted. The jhuggis were occupied by workers employed in a construction firm.

Those killed were identified as Mintu Marti (35), Budin Turu (45) and Sanyolak Malda (35). All were West Bengal natives.

After the postmortem, the dead bodies of were handed over to the relatives.
