Nitin Sharma, deputy general manager with the Aero Group of Companies, had returned home around 8.15am after dropping his daughters to school when he was cornered by two gunmen in the car park.

Sharma, 35, was shot as his wife Shalini watched from the balcony of their second-floor apartment. She ran downstairs to find him lying splattered with blood and the gunmen fleeing.

Some 15 minutes later, neighbours drove Sharma to the Shanti Gopal Hospital nearby, where he was declared dead.

Police were investigating several angles to the murder. Superintendent of Police SS Yadav said Aero Group employees sacked in Ghaziabad and Pitampura were being probed. It was also being verified if Sharma had an altercation with any motorist on Friday morning.
