Sticking to his guns on forming a coalition government with the BJP, JDS rebel leader HD Kumaraswamy on Saturday said that he would prove his strength on the floor of the Assembly on January 27, when Chief Minister N Dharam Singh seeks a vote of confidence.

"I am not fighting for power. I will prove my strength on January 27," said a defiant Kumaraswamy, who has declared that he would not go back on his decision to dislodge the Congress-led coalition government with JDS.

Reacting sharply to Singh's accusations that his action of holding MLAs forcibly was nothing but horse-trading, Kumaraswamy, son of JDS supremo HD Deve Gowda, said, "I have not pooled legislators by engaging in horse-trading. I have been only carrying out my duties as per the wishes of my party MLAs."

Kumaraswamy said that he would bare all details whether Gowda was part of the political upheaval triggered by him or not.

He said he would try to convince his father and other senior JDS leaders on what prompted him to call off ties with the Congress and align with the BJP.
