You have been losing to Nitish since the last three parliamentary elections. Would you retire from politics if you lose to him again?
Why should I take retirement? I am certain to win this time.

But supposing you lose, would you like to contest against him in future?
I tell you, I am not going to lose. But if I do, I (err…) probably will not fight against him.

At one point of time (in 1985), you used to campaign for Nitish. Why did you two fall apart?
It was more because of ideological differences. When the Janata Dal split, I decided to go with Laloo Prasad Yadav and sided with his Rashtriya Janata Dal.

But the animosity between you and Nitish seems fierce and reflects in your speeches. Why?
(First tries to parry away the question) Main Laloo-Nitish ki ladai mein antim path tha (I was the last chapter in Laloo-Nitish’s fight). Please don’t ask me any further.

What’s your campaign’s USP?
Vijay Krishna ko vijay ka mala pehnaiye

What’s your election strategy?
That’s a secret. (But one of his overenthusiastic poll managers jumps in and replies, “Humko bullet se nahin, ballot se jitaiye. Sorry mate, gone are the days of ballots, it’s EVMs now!)
