Before taking this extreme step the engineer had left two suicide notes written in English on different dates in his room. One suicide note was written on March 3 while the other one was written just before he committed suicide, said the police.
As per the gist of one suicide note which the police station officer of Dhumanganj could not read properly, the chief works engineer wrote to senior officers that he was committing suicide as he was solely responsible for certain mistakes committed in various departmental works.
He also admitted that he was the one who committed the mistakes and that nobody else should be held responsible for his acts of omission and commission.
It also stated that he was also unable to complete the jobs allotted to him on time, as one of the reasons of suicide.
The other letter states that he was taking this step on his own and goes on to ask for god's forgiveness for his extreme step. He also asked his two sons to forgive him for his act.
The SO Dhumanganj, SK Singh, said that the deceased hailed from Rajendra Nagar, Lucknow. His wife had expired about a decade back leaving behind two sons.
