IAS officer scripts Bollywood film

Commissioner Swarn Singh has roped in director Anees Bamzee to make a film on Indo-Pak relations.

A Jalandhar-basedIAS officerclaims to have roped in Bollywood director Anees Bamzee to make a film on Indo-Pak relations scripted by him in which Pakistani actress Nirma will essay the lead and Sonu Nigam and Alka Yagnik render the playback songs.

"Apart from Nirma, who plays an Indian girl, top stars of Bollywood are being signed for the film titled Sanjh Dilon Ki, the shooting of which will begin next month," Jalandhar Commissioner Swarn Singh told reporters on Friday.

He said Anees Bazmee, who directed No Entry, would direct the film, city-based composers Surinder Singh Sodhi and Kuljit score the music and Sonu Nigam, Alka Yagnik and Meenu Atwal (also from Jalandhar) croon the playback songs.

Shooting of the film would be done in Punjab, Lahore and in England, he said adding that the project was expected to be completed by August.

"Last year, my NGO organised a Indo-Pak cultural programme called Sanjh Dilan Di after which I dreamt of making a film on the subject. My dream has come true as the project to make Hindi movie is under way," he said.
