IFFCO MD accorded grand welcome
A GRAND felicitation function was organised recently at the Indian Farmers? Fertiliser Cooperative Phulpur, for MD, Udai Shankar Awasthi, who was on a two-day visit to the unit. He was felicitated with a 51-kg garland by IFFCO Phulpur Unit Officers Association and Karmachari Sangh. GM Rajashekhariah and all senior officers of the unit expressed their regards by offering him bouquets. Jitendra Tiwari, chairman, All India IFFCO Officers Federation, while expressing his regards, praised the vision initiatives and skills of Awasthi .

He was felicitated with a 51-kg garland by IFFCO Phulpur Unit Officers Association and Karmachari Sangh. GM Rajashekhariah and all senior officers of the unit expressed their regards by offering him bouquets.
Jitendra Tiwari, chairman, All India IFFCO Officers Federation, while expressing his regards, praised the vision, initiatives and skills of Awasthi and read out an “Accolade Letter” highlighting the achievements of IFFCO under Awasthi.
Jai Shanker Yadav, general secretary, IFFCO Phulpur Karmachari Sangh, in his address said that any praise for a personality like Awasthi would be too small.
Apart from the phenomenal growth of IFFCO under his able leadership, Awasthi always worked for all round prosperity of the employees of IFFCO, he said.
Speaking on the occasion, S K Tyagi, general manager (marketing), said that with the dynamic vision of Awasthi, they were able to market about 100 lakh tonnes per annum of fertilizers today as against a meager 8 lakh tonnes in 1970.
With his farsightedness and vision of meeting the shortfall of DAP requirement in our country, Awasthi has acquired the DAP plant of Oswal at Paradeep which is the first instance of purchase of any industry by a cooperative.
Raj Kumar Tripathi, director on the board of IFFCO, stated that Awasthi was a hero and his name would ever be synonymous with fertilizers.
Under him, IFFCO has transformed into a 100 percent cooperative which is the first instance in the country.
In his address, general manager Rajashekhariah praised the resolute efforts taken by Awasthi in doubling the production capacities of all the plants of IFFCO during the last 10 years.
Awasthi expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the grand felicitation. He attributed the success of IFFCO to sound policies of IFFCO based on high moral values.
