IGNOU launches environmental course

THE INDIRA Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has launched an Appreciation Course on Environment jointly with the Union Ministry of Environment and Forest. The three-month course at creating awareness on environment safety and conservation.

THE INDIRA Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has launched an Appreciation Course on Environment jointly with the Union Ministry of Environment and Forest. The three-month course at creating awareness on environment safety and conservation.

There would be no examination following the course but only a three-day rigorous workshop focused on various issues of environment. Any person with 10+2 qualification can join this programme by paying fees of Rs 600.

Enrolment is open every year in July and January. The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) would provide a certificate to the successful candidates. The course is especially suitable for teachers, students, engineers, entrepreneurs, contractors, planners, policymakers, doctors, journalists and others who cannot attend regular classes.

Regional Director of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) Dr K S Tiwari said the programme aims at developing a critical and close vision for better understanding the status of environment and prevailing state of affairs with specific emphasis on sustainable development.
