IIM-Indore to follow Centre's quota policy

The IIM-I Director said the number of seats was being increased from 120 to 180 in 2006-07 as per an earlier decision.

Indian Institute of Management, Indore, Director SP Parashar has said the Centre's decision over OBC reservation in higher educational institutes would be followed by his institution.

Dr Parashar, who returned from a foreign tour recently, said he had not received any official information in this regard so far.

He said after Parliament took a decision over reservation, it would be considered as the decision of the country.

On effect on quality of education with the increase in number of seats, he said he did not feel that quality would suffer. He said increase in the number of seats would help in separating batches.

The IIM-I Director said the number of seats was being increased from 120 to 180 in 2006-07 as per an earlier decision. If the government wished, the number of seats would be increased further.

Besides, the number of teachers would be increased. With the appointment of four additional teachers in the next session, the total number of teachers would reach 32.
