IISc attack mastermind still at large

Karnataka Police are still to ascertain the whereabouts of the culprit and also whether he is dead or alive.

Sadiq, the mastermind of the terrorist attack at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) campus last year, which resulted in the death of Delhi IIT teacher MC Puri, is still at large, Karnataka Police chief BS Sial said on Thursday.

Sadiq's photo profile has been sent to all states as part of the efforts to nab him, the outgoing police chief said in Mangalore.

Seven persons who were involved in planning and supporting the attackers have been arrested.

"The department, however, is trying its level best to nab him (Sadiq)," he said.

"We have to know whether the culprit is in the country or abroad, and whether he is alive or dead," he said, adding no information on him has been received so far from any state.
